In this article we will run through the steps to setup and deploy Tikit Virtual Agent.

To make the Tikit Virtual Agent app available to users from your Teams app store, you will allow the Tikit Virtual Agent app. After allowing TVA to your organization’s app store, you can create an app setup policy to install Tikit Virtual Agent for your users. We’ve detailed the steps below.
Microsoft is migrating its manage apps experience to a new experience. If you are on the older version, the experience you will visually follow is in this section. If the below examples are not aligning with your manage apps experience, please navigate to the Allow Tikit within Manage Apps (New Version) below.
To install the Tikit Virtual Agent to your organization’s app store in Teams:
- In the Microsoft Teams admin center, open Manage Apps then search for and select the Tikit Virtual Agent app.
- After you have selected Tikit Virtual Agent, click on Allow to change the status of Tikit Virtual Agent to Allowed
The Tikit Virtual Agent has successfully been allowed in your Microsoft teams app store and is ready for your users to install. Teams admins can also deploy Virtual Agent to users via a Setup Policy, and also pin Virtual Agent to your users sidebar! Check out the sections below on managing app permission policies and app setup policies.
Microsoft is migrating its permission policies to a new experience. If you are on the older version, the experience you will visually follow is in this section. If you are on the new version, permission policies have been completely migrated into the assignment area of the new manage apps experience and you will need to reference the Assign Tikit within Manage Apps (New Version) below.
- Open Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Navigate to Teams Apps –> Permission policies
- Select Global (Org-wide default)
- Verify that Third-party apps is set to Allow all apps
- If Allow all apps is not selected, please make sure either Allow specific apps and block all others is selected and add Tikit Virtual Agent, or Block specific apps and allow all others is selected and Tikit Virtual Agent is not blocked
You will first need to verify if Tikit Virtual Agent is Unblocked within Teams Admin Center – Teams apps – Manage apps:
- Open Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Navigate to Teams apps –> Manage apps
- Search for Tikit Virtual Agent and verify the App status is Unblocked
- If Tikit Virtual Agent App status is set to Blocked, select Tikit Virtual Agent and then click on the Actions menu and select Unblock app to allow Tikit Virtual Agent in your environment
You will then need to verify that the Tikit Virtual Agent is set to Everyone under assignments to allow for Tikit to be accessed by agents:
- Open Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Navigate to Teams apps -> Manage apps
- Search for Tikit Virtual Agent and verify the Assignments is set to Everyone
- If Assignments is set to Not assigned, select Tikit Virtual Agent and then click on the Assignments menu, select Assign app and either select Everyone or Specific users or groups (end users that will be using Tikit Virtual Agent) to allow the appropriate access to Tikit Virtual Agent in your environment
- If Assignments is set to Specific users or groups, ensure that these are the appropriate users or groups (end users that will be using Tikit Virtual Agent) that need access to Tikit Virtual Agent. If you need to change the assignment, select Tikit Virtual Agent and then click on the Assignments menu, select Assign app and either select Everyone or Specific users or groups (end users that will be using Tikit Virtual Agent) to allow the appropriate access to Tikit Virtual Agent in your environment
Users who have permissions to Tikit Virtual Agent can find it in your Team’s app store. To make it easy for users to get the app, you can setup a policy to deploy Tikit Virtual Agent to all users and pin the app to the app bar in Teams. To do this, we will add Tikit Virtual Agent to the Global (Org-wide default) setup policy.
- Sign in to the Microsoft Teams admin center.
- In the left navigation, go to Teams apps > Setup policies
- Select Global (Org-wide default)
To install Tikit Virtual Agent:
- Under Installed apps, click Add apps
- In the Add installed apps pane, search for Tikit Virtual Agent, and then select Add
To pin Tikit Virtual Agent:
- Under Pinned apps, click Add apps.
- In the Add pinned apps pane, search for Tikit Virtual Agent, and then select Add
- Arrange the apps in the order you want them to appear in Teams
- Click Save to save the app setup policy
Admins have the ability to customize the Tikit Virtual Agent app to adhere to an organization’s branding. Teams admin can update the app properties based on the organizational needs in the Manage Apps page in Teams admin center. You may refer to Customize appearance of apps in your organization’s Teams store to review the details of which properties you can customize.
To customize the Tikit VIrtual Agent from the Manage Apps page:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Teams admin center.
- In the left navigation, go to Teams apps > Manage Apps.
- Search for and select Tikit Virtual Agent from the list
Microsoft is migrating its Manage app experience. If your visual experience looks different then what is outlined in step 4, please reference step 5 below for the new experience.
- In the Tikit Virtual Agent manage app page, click on the pencil icon to open the Customize pane
- In the Tikit Virtual Agent manage app page, click on the Actions menu and select Customize
- In the Customize pane, change the details as needed
- When you’re finished with changes, click Apply.
